Valves Team Fortress 2 play free weekend starts Friday am and runs till Sunday night.
So fire up Steam and download the game, get a chance to play the new maps and try the new game mode; Arena. This is also the week that the updates for the Heavy class came out so new achievements and weapon unlocks are available.
Valve Software's Team Fortress 2 blog has unveiled with the update will include seven fresh maps and a new game mode, (a new Payload map focusing on more open spaces than Goldrush) and the Heavy gets his updates for release on Tuesday.
The details on the Heavy class update. The first of three unlockable weapons planned for the Heavy are Killing Gloves of Boxing, which replace the Heavy's bare fists as his melee attack. When landing a killing blow with the K.G.B., the Heavy receives five full seconds of guaranteed critical hits, which can be used to kill more foes and further extend the remaining time.
The crit bonus can also be used with the Heavy's other weapons—the shotgun and the minigun—allowing the class to lay waste to enemies at a distance. The gloves offer a slower swing speed than the Heavy's uncovered fists, making use of the item somewhat riskier than the standard equipment roll-out.
Along with two yet-unannounced unlockable weapons, the K.G.B. will be obtainable via a total of 35 class-specific achievements.
Grand Theft Auto IV will be arriving on the PC on November 18th.
"We are very excited to be releasing the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "The whole team is dedicated to bringing an amazing gaming experience to the PC. The game looks and plays beautifully on PC and we can't wait for people to play it."
Developed by series creator Rockstar North and set in Liberty City, the latest installment in the enormously successful Grand Theft Auto series features a painstakingly detailed and life-like city for players to explore; a rich, immersive narrative experience; an original soundtrack highlighting the cultural eclecticism of Liberty City; and newly expanded multiplayer just for the PC.
"Although it's not immediately apparent from the title, Wolfenstein picks up right where Return to Castle Wolfenstein left off. You, as elite OSA agent B.J. Blazkowicz, have dealt the Nazis a serious blow by defeating their occult division and paranormally enhanced super soldiers. But, of course, they're not quite ready to accept defeat. "The Nazis aren't ones to sit around," explains Biessman, "they're going to start new experiments, and they've found this energy source called the Black Sun." And so, as you'd probably expect, Wolfenstein will be a combination of straight-up WWII combat mixed with a few occult twists."
EA DICE's upcoming free-to-play PC shooter Battlefield Heroes has been delayed and is now expected to arrive late this year, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.
The ad-supported, web-based shooter was previously expected to launch this summer. During a conference call today, EA CEO John Riccitiello revealed that the game is now "launching at the end of the calendar year."
"We decided to increase its focus on some of the social networking features," Riccitiello noted, stressing that the studio hopes to incorporate beta tester feedback and implement new features. "The last thing we want to do is jab it in the marketplace."
Riccitiello seemed optimistic about the title's development despite the delay, adding that Battlefield Heroes "still feels like it's progressing much like we anticipated."
